The Norfolk Broads
There are forty broads all varying in size and most are linked together with a network of channels. This in turn creates 200km of lockfree waterways to enjoy.
The Norfolk Broads were created in Mediaevel times by man digging for peat which was a source of fuel in these times. In the fourteenth century sea levels rose and flooded these massive holes which we now know as The Norfolk Broads today.
As well as sailing on the broads in one of the many hire craft available, there are also a number of things to do on dry land in the area.
There are many scenic walks, including the Wherrymans Way and Anglers Way. If you are feeling a little more energetic you could try a cycle ride, or if you just want to chill out and relax there are lots of fabulous fishing spots.
Within The Norfolk Broads there are six National Reserves, so there are some wonderful opportunities for birdwatching too.
Due to picturesque scenery many artists come to the area to capure its beauty, maybe while you are visiting the area you may feel the urge to pick up a brush.
As well a sailing on The Norfolk Broads there are also opportunities to to windsurf and explore the broads in a canoe.
